iPhone App: Tiny Wings

Like Christina Warren, I’m a huge fan of Angry Birds. That game is a hard to turn off right before you go to bed. I wonder how many iPhones or iPads have been broken because of how frustrated you can get with it.

Well if you need a break from the angry poultry, try Tiny Wings created by Andreas Illiger. One of the 5by5 audience members, afruit, had suggested it to me and Christina. It’s only $.99 but seems to be catching a lot of traction. It has over 19,000 reviews with 4.5 stars.

Game Play

You wake this tiny bird up. It slides up and down the hills to help him fly higher. You touch the screen to tuck his wings in to make him heavy and when you release, he sticks his wings out to fly. You basically try to get as much momento to fly higher and farther. It flies to each island before night falls. Once night falls, it’s the end of the game.

My Thoughts

It takes some getting used to knowing when to touch the screen. Once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty fun. You have objectives like scoring a certain amount of points on one island. You start to panic a little once you see the night coming.

The Video

You should try it out. It’s only $.99. They don’t have an iPad version yet but it might be in the near future. Let me know if you like it.
